On Mother’s Day of 2012, I had my husband take a photo of the kids and me together. It was that photo, along with the recent passing of my Mom, that sparked my journey to a healthier life.
Now the photos are a tradition, one that I look forward to every year. I never miss an opportunity to get in photos with my children any more.
Not only am I changing, but my kids are, too! I can’t believe how grown up they look…especially my son!
I had a great Mother’s Day. We spent our first weekend at our seasonal camping spot. I got to open my gifts from the kids on the deck with a view of the lake. Warm air and sunshine were plenty. I was definitely feeling the love. We had dinner with my mother in law, brother in law, sister in law, her mother and my brother. Lots of fun and laughs were had.
Mother’s Day is a hard one for me still. This was the third one since my Mom passed.
This is one of my favorite photos of my Mom. She loved riding her motorcycle. We had beautiful weather yesterday and I know she would have been out riding if she were still here. I miss her tremendously.
Happy Mother’s Day to all you Mothers out there! I hope you had a fantastic day!
Mother’s Day is still a hard one for me. It’s now the second one that we’ve celebrated since my Mother passed away. It’s just not the same without her. I had a nice day though, we packed up and came home from the campground early this morning. The kids got me a beautiful hanging basket full of flowers. I asked that Doug not get me a present this year, but to donate the money to The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, which is the race that I’m running in next weekend. We went out for ice cream (I was good, I promise!) with my father in law and out to dinner with my mother in law and sister in law.
I also had Doug take a photo of me and the kids. It was chilly today, but we made it work!
I was really excited about getting this photo this year. I couldn’t wait to compare it to last year’s photo. You see, I started this journey last year on the day after Mother’s Day. This is my first one year (minus a day) comparison!
What a difference a year makes! I can’t wait to see what the next year will bring!
I’ll be back soon for a Weigh Day and an Anniversary post!
